If someone wants to make a direct deposit into your account, how would they go about doing that?

My aunt wants to deposit money into my debit account, but she lives in another country.

How does she go about doing that? Does she just call my bank with my account number?|||She can do an international wire. They are called SWIFT payments. I can't remember the exact acronym. The problem is they aren't guaranteed to get to the intended destination so I wouldn't use them unless the other country is a UK or modern European one. She would go to her bank.|||Your aunt's bank can have a check made out in US Dollars. If she's mailing it, that's the way to go. But if it's a significant amount of money, wire transfer is best. She'll need to give her bank your name and account number so your bank can identify whose account gets the money.|||Talk to your bank about it.

They can set up for a wire transfer to your account from your aunts bank.|||She could mail a check directly to the bank.

She would have to include a short note.

Please allow check number # to be deposited in account #

She would also include your Name and Address

Simple as that

You will get hit with a small foreign transaction fee. Be aware of this.

She can ask her bank do do a wire transfer.

Be aware that this is costly. Her bank will charge her about $35 USD

Plus another charge for foreign fees.

Plus, your bank will charge you for receiving the wire transfer, about $10 USD|||They can deposit money in a third party deposit account. They should fill properly the name and account number.
