If a car dealership refuses to give my deposit back what can I do ?

I went to a dealership and left a down payment before all numbers were written down. Now I'm going back and think they are going to call it a deposit and if I walk due to more fees, they will not return my down payment. It was given with debit card.|||nothing you left money to hold car from selling to another

you payed for them not to sell it while you was thinking about buying it

down payment you lose if you dont buy it

might ask for it back but they dont have to give it

since they held car and didnt sale it which is what it was for

deposit down payment what ever you want to cal it lost if you dont buy it|||kelly knows nothing

1 the deal was not made,,they must return the money

2 small clams court...call local county court get info on how

3 call better bis bureau and state consumers affairs/attorney generals office..|||Was it a down payment or a deposit? Sounds like a deposit to me and they usually aren't refundable. Never put money on a vehicle unless you're serious about buying it.|||call your bank, and stop the transaction...:)|||Small claims court if the deposit is less than $5000. Read your contract first though, if it states in the contract you signed with them that the deposit is non-refundable you're out of luck.
